This bill amends existing law to require certain disclosures in bond and levy elections. For bond elections, the bill requires information on the purpose of the bonds, the anticipated interest rate and total repayment amount, the estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer, and the length of time the bonds will be paid off. The bill also requires disclosure if the ballot includes information on state tax relief funds that are set to expire at a future date. Similarly, for levy elections, the bill requires disclosures on the purpose and estimated annual cost of the levy, as well as the length of time it will be assessed. The bill also mandates disclosure if the levy replaces an expiring levy and if the new levy is impacted by expiring state tax relief funds.
