AI Summary

This bill, known as the "Tim Tebow Act," authorizes homeschool students to participate in public school extracurricular activities. It defines key terms such as "homeschool" and "interscholastic extracurricular activity," and outlines the requirements for homeschool students to participate, including paying the same fees as public school students, adhering to the same standards, and providing appropriate documentation of academic proficiency. The bill prohibits discrimination against homeschool students in selecting participants for these activities. It also allows school districts to apply for additional state funding to cover the costs of homeschool student participation, and establishes a "Homeschool Extracurricular Activity Fund" within the State Department of Education to provide such funding. The bill makes clear that participation in extracurricular activities is a privilege, not a right, and does not grant the state or school districts additional regulatory authority over homeschool students.
