This bill amends the Public Utilities Code to require that when telephone calls are placed using an automatic dialing-announcing device, the announcement must inform the person called if the prerecorded message uses an artificial voice. Artificial voice is defined as a voice generated or significantly altered using artificial intelligence. The bill also states that no reimbursement is required for local agencies or school districts because the only costs that may be incurred are due to the creation of a new crime or infraction.
