This bill, the Motorcycle Mobility Safety Act, amends Georgia's motor vehicle and traffic laws to: 1. Define "rectangular rapid flash beacon" as user-activated amber lights that supplement warning signals at unsignalized intersections or mid-block crosswalks. 2. Allow motorcycle or bicycle drivers to disregard an inoperative traffic signal if they have a reasonable belief it is malfunctioning and there are no other vehicles approaching, as long as they proceed with caution. 3. Require drivers to stop for pedestrians at crosswalks with activated rectangular rapid flash beacons, and prohibit pedestrians from activating these devices without intent to cross the road. 4. Remove provisions regarding the maximum height of motorcycle handlebars. The bill aims to improve safety and mobility for motorcycle and bicycle riders, as well as pedestrians, by addressing issues related to inoperative traffic signals and crosswalk signals.
