This bill amends the administrative code of the City of New York to include the illegal conversion of dwelling units in the definition of harassment. Specifically, it adds two new subparagraphs to the definition of harassment, including the illegal conversion of any existing facilities, such as the subdivision of rooms, erection or demolition of walls, or the moving of a building, in violation of any state or local law, ordinance, code, rule, or regulation relating to real property, buildings, or multiple dwellings. It also includes the occupancy or use of dwelling units in a Class A multiple dwelling that would violate the Multiple Dwelling Law. This bill aims to expand the definition of harassment to address the issue of illegal conversions of dwelling units.
