Bill Summary
Relative to emergency stock supply of epinephrine in schools
AI Summary
This bill amends existing Massachusetts laws to require all schools to maintain a stock supply of non-patient-specific epinephrine, an emergency treatment for severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), and to train authorized individuals on its administration. The bill also provides legal immunity for school nurses or other authorized individuals who administer the epinephrine in good faith, and directs the state's Department of Public Health and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to seek federal funding or reimbursement, as well as free epinephrine from pharmaceutical companies, to support the implementation of these requirements.
