To prohibit the use of PFAS in certain products.

AI Summary

This bill prohibits the manufacture, sale, offer for sale, or distribution of certain products containing intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Connecticut starting in 2026, with some exceptions. The bill requires manufacturers to provide prior notification to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) before selling products with intentionally added PFAS and to label such products. The bill also establishes a PFAS Testing Account to provide grants or reimbursements to municipalities and school districts for testing and remediating PFAS contamination in drinking water, as well as for implementing the bill's provisions, including the multistate clearinghouse for PFAS information.
