This bill requires coverage for acute mental health crisis mobile response and stabilization services to any individual enrolled as a plan beneficiary. The services are defined as those delivered to provide rapid response, assessment, and early intervention for children and youth under 18 experiencing an acute mental health crisis, with symptoms such as aggression, self-injury, trauma, depression/anxiety, school challenges, and suicidal/homicidal thoughts. The coverage must be provided regardless of any difference in billing codes, on par with other behavioral health services. The bill takes effect on January 1, 2025.
