This bill requires parity in Medicaid reimbursement rates for certain routine inpatient hospice room and board services. Specifically, it amends the existing Medicaid law to require that the reimbursement rate for inpatient room and board services provided by a licensed hospice care program be no less than the rate for room and board services provided by a nursing home to a resident receiving hospice services. The bill also requires the Commissioner of Human Services to apply for any necessary state plan amendments or waivers to implement the provisions of the bill and secure federal financial participation.
