This bill, the Cartel And Radical Terrorist Enforcement Log Act of 2024 (CARTEL Act of 2024), has two key provisions: 1. It requires the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner to publish monthly operational statistics on the agency's website, including the number of alien encounters and nationalities, gang-affiliated apprehensions, drug seizures, encounters with individuals on the terrorist screening database, arrests of criminal aliens, and encounters with individuals affiliated with transnational criminal organizations. 2. It requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to submit an annual assessment to Congress on foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations attempting to move their members or affiliates into the United States through the southern, northern, or maritime borders.
