For Islamophobia, the bill requires the inclusion of the working definition adopted by the United Nations (UN), which defines it as a fear, prejudice, and hatred of Muslims leading to hostility and intolerance, and also includes any UN examples and guidelines if they are deemed useful. These requirements apply to all DEIB policies issued by State agencies and recipients of State funds, aiming to ensure a consistent understanding and approach to combating these forms of prejudice within the state.
