This bill provides a refundable sales and use tax exemption for construction materials, supplies, and equipment used in the construction and renovation projects for four schools in the Big Lake Public School District (Independent School District No. 727) in Minnesota. The exemption applies to purchases made after December 31, 2021, and before January 1, 2025. The tax must be imposed and collected as if the standard sales tax rate applies, and then refunded to the school district in the same manner as other eligible construction project exemptions. The amount required to pay the refunds is appropriated from the state's general fund to the commissioner of revenue.
