This bill establishes a hunting mentorship program in New York. It allows a person who is at least 10 years old to hunt small game, fowl, deer, or bear during applicable seasons without obtaining a hunting license or hunter's education course certification, as long as they are within arm's reach of a "qualified hunting mentor" - a person who is at least 21 years old, holds a valid hunting license and hunter's education certificate, and is either the parent/guardian of the mentee or authorized by the parent/guardian. The bill also specifies that the mentor and mentee can only have one firearm, bow, or crossbow between them while hunting.
