This bill amends the Pennsylvania Amber Alert System Law to establish the Pennsylvania Purple Alert System. The Pennsylvania Purple Alert System will be operated by the Pennsylvania State Police to notify the public of a missing person with an intellectual disability who is at risk. The bill also provides immunity from civil liability for any person who provides or attempts to provide assistance for a person who is the subject of a Pennsylvania Purple Alert System notice, except for acts or omissions intended to cause harm or that constitute gross negligence or willful, wanton, or reckless conduct.
