This bill makes a number of changes to various laws governing consumer affairs, including: 1. Incorporating the Naturopathic Doctor's Fund into the Professions and Vocations Fund, which is a single special fund that consists of various special funds and accounts for different licensing boards and programs. 2. Correcting references to the Dental Hygiene Board of California and the Dental Board of California. 3. Making changes to the Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and Hearing Aid Dispensers Licensure Act, including updating terminology around hearing aid dispensers and speech-language pathology assistants. 4. Updating various provisions in the Nursing Practice Act, including replacing references to "accredited" nursing programs with "approved" programs and making changes to fees related to public health nurse certifications. 5. Making minor, nonsubstantive changes to the Physician Assistant Practice Act. 6. Updating references and terminology in the Naturopathic Doctors Act to reflect the name change from the Bureau of Naturopathic Medicine to the California Board of Naturopathic Medicine. 7. Renaming the Veterinary Medical Board to the California Veterinary Medical Board and renaming the related Veterinary Medical Board Contingent Fund. 8. Authorizing schools, colleges, and universities that are accredited or approved to be continuing education sources for marriage and family therapist licensees. 9. Revising terminology related to "bureau-approved educational certifications" for automotive repair dealers. 10. Conforming the notice language on fictitious business name statements to existing expiration law. 11. Making various changes to the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009, including narrowing the definition of "noninstitutional charges" and prohibiting institutions from requiring students to use internal dispute procedures before enforcing contractual or legal rights. 12. Correcting references to "psychological assistant" to instead refer to "registered psychological associate" and removing an outdated reference to "registered psychologist." 13. Making other technical and nonsubstantive changes. 14. Incorporating additional changes to the Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Act proposed in other bills. 15. Incorporating additional changes to the Dental Hygiene Act proposed in another bill.
