This bill removes certain requirements on what the Office of Children and Family Services can determine to be appropriate staff-to-child ratios for family day care homes, group family day care homes, school-age day care programs, and day care centers. Specifically, it removes the requirement that the staff-to-child ratios established by the agency cannot be less stringent than the ratios set forth in the state's regulations as of January 1, 2000. This gives the agency more flexibility in setting the appropriate ratios for these child care facilities.
