Bill Summary
AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to requiring that all new motor vehicles sold at new motor vehicle dealerships contain a spare tire
AI Summary
This bill requires that all new motor vehicles sold at new motor vehicle dealerships include a spare tire, whether or not the vehicle is equipped with standard radial or run-flat tires. Run-flat tires are defined as pneumatic tires designed to resist the effects of deflation when punctured, allowing the vehicle to continue being driven at reduced speeds for a limited distance, but cannot replace a spare tire for safety and longer journeys to a repair shop.
