This bill encourages school districts in Minnesota to commemorate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month each May. It allows districts to provide instruction or conduct programs to help students learn about the diverse cultures, traditions, achievements, and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to American history and culture. Districts are also encouraged to partner with community groups to promote and encourage observance of the month.
