This bill establishes a social district license for the city of Shakopee, Minnesota. The city can designate a social district where holders of on-sale liquor licenses whose premises are contiguous to the social district can allow customers to consume, but not purchase, alcoholic beverages within the designated social district. The bill sets out requirements for the designation of the social district, signage, management and maintenance, and the sale and possession of alcoholic beverages within the district. This allows for a defined outdoor area where individuals can consume alcohol purchased from participating on-sale liquor licensees.
