This bill, the Artificial Intelligence Practices, Logistics, Actions, and Necessities Act (AI PLAN Act), requires the Secretary of the Treasury, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and the Secretary of Commerce to jointly submit an annual report to Congress on the national and economic security risks posed by the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in financial crimes, including fraud and the dissemination of misinformation. The report must include a description of interagency policies and procedures to defend against these risks, as well as an itemized list of resources needed to combat the use of AI in such crimes. The bill also requires the Secretaries to submit recommendations on legislative actions and best practices to address these risks.
