This bill amends Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to further provide for prostitution and related offenses. It removes the provisions that made it a felony of the third degree if the person who committed the offense knew they were human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive or manifesting acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Instead, the bill allows for resentencing of those previously convicted under the former provisions to a misdemeanor grade, provided they have completed their sentence and are not currently serving a sentence or under supervision on any other matter. The bill takes effect 60 days after enactment.
