This bill establishes the Reproductive Health Equity Grant Fund, a one-time grant program to ensure access to abortion care in the state of Minnesota. The fund will provide grants to abortion providers, government entities, and nonprofit organizations that provide or facilitate access to abortion care. The grants are intended to support the abortion care infrastructure, increase access to care, ensure affordability and access to care regardless of ability to pay, secure the physical and digital infrastructure of abortion care facilities, and provide training on trauma-informed care and cultural competencies. The bill appropriates $30 million in fiscal year 2025 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Health for the grant program.
