This bill amends the surcharge on all-electric vehicles in Minnesota. Specifically, it increases the surcharge from $75 to $137, and it requires the commissioner to annually adjust the surcharge based on any increases in the state's gasoline excise tax rate. The additional revenue from the surcharge must be deposited in the highway user tax distribution fund. The changes in this bill will take effect on the day following final enactment and apply to taxes payable for a registration period starting on or after July 1, 2024.
