This bill increases the penalties for certain crimes committed after unlawful reentry into the United States or for the benefit of a transnational crime organization. It defines "removal" as any agreement in which a person stipulates to removal during a criminal proceeding under federal or state law, and increases the statutory maximum for a crime committed after such removal by up to 5 years, or up to 10 years if the victim is a child under 18. The bill also amends the definition of "criminal gang" to include "transnational crime organization," which is defined as an organization that routinely facilitates the international trafficking of drugs, humans, or weapons, or the international smuggling of humans. These changes aim to enhance public safety by imposing harsher sentences for these types of criminal activities.
