This bill amends the existing law in Colorado Revised Statutes 38-37-104 to adjust the fees that public trustees are entitled to receive for performing various services, such as executing a release of a deed of trust, performing a foreclosure, processing redemptions and withdrawals, and other duties. The bill increases most of the existing fee amounts and also adds a new fee for processing a sale when the holder of the certificate of purchase is not the holder of the evidence of debt. Additionally, the bill includes provisions for the Director of Research of the Legislative Council to adjust the fee amounts every two years to reflect inflation, with the adjusted fees rounded up to the nearest whole dollar. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2024 and applies to fees that public trustees are entitled to receive on or after that date.
