This bill amends Section 2434 of the Insurance Code of 1956 in Michigan. The key provisions are: 1) The bill replaces the term "commissioner" with "director" in reference to the person responsible for prescribing rating classifications for medical malpractice insurance for physicians. 2) The bill requires insurers that offer medical malpractice insurance policies to provide the Department of Health and Human Services with information about their policies related to perinatal care services on an annual basis. The Department must then submit this information to the Department of Health and Human Services for the purpose of a study required under a separate law. The bill will only take effect if Senate Bill No. 818 of the 102nd Legislature is also enacted into law.
