This bill appropriates $2,000,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2025 to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to provide a grant to the Minnesota Somali Community Center. The grant will be used to acquire, design, renovate, furnish, and equip a property located at 1801 Nicollet Avenue South in Minneapolis. The new center will provide behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services to immigrant families. The appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to the requirements of Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
