This bill aims to further restrict certain sex offenders in Alabama. It prohibits adult sex offenders convicted of offenses where the victim was 12 years old or younger from using a post office box or possessing electronic devices with internet access, unless approved by their probation or parole officer. Additionally, the bill allows the Board of Pardons and Paroles or a court to require sex offenders to undergo sex offender treatment, including periodic polygraph examinations, as a condition of release. The bill also grants the Executive Director of the Board of Pardons and Paroles the authority to adopt rules necessary to implement and enforce the law, and it will become effective on October 1, 2024.
