This bill, the Embracing anti-Discrimination, Unbiased Curricula, and Advancing Truth in Education Act (EDUCATE Act), aims to prohibit graduate medical schools from receiving federal financial assistance if they adopt certain policies and requirements related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The bill sets limits on how graduate medical schools can direct, compel, or incentivize students, faculty, or staff to personally adopt certain ideological tenets, make distinctions or classifications based on race, color, or ethnicity, or establish diversity, equity, and inclusion offices. The bill also requires accrediting agencies to ensure that institutions do not adopt policies or requirements that contravene the provisions of the EDUCATE Act.
