This bill limits the information that a person is required to provide in a marriage or civil union license application. Currently, the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) provides the certificate of marriage or civil union application and requires the applicants to provide the name of the person's most recent spouse or civil union partner, as well as the number of times the person was married or entered into a civil union. Under the bill, the DOH is prohibited from providing an application form to applicants which requires a person to provide the: (1) number of times the person has been married or entered into a civil union; or (2) name of the most recent spouse or civil union partner.
