The assessment would address the current domestic production capacity and potential supply chain bottlenecks for various critical inputs, such as agricultural equipment, fuel, fertilizers, feed, veterinary drugs, and crop protection chemicals. The bill also requires the Secretary to provide recommendations to mitigate threats posed by China and reduce barriers to producing these critical inputs domestically or near-shore. The Secretary is required to collect and protect any sensitive business information provided voluntarily by private entities during the assessment process.
