This bill amends the Retirement and Social Security Law to reduce the normal retirement age for police/fire members who are members of the New York City Fire Department Pension Fund from the age at which they complete 22 years of service to the age at which they complete 20 years of service. This means that these members will be able to receive their full retirement benefit without regard to age after 20 years of service, rather than having to wait until they reach the age of 22 years of service. The bill also notes that the provisions of the act will apply to Chapter 3 of Title 13 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York.
