This bill establishes provisions related to the police cadet program in the city of Brockton, Massachusetts. The key provisions include: 1) If federal or state orders require listing police candidates in separate groups, the act shall be subject to such listing; 2) No more than 33 1/3% of regular police appointments in a calendar year can be made under this act, and the appointing authority must report such appointments to the personnel administrator; and 3) Section 61 of Chapter 31 of the General Laws, which pertains to civil service appointments, shall apply to appointments made under this act.
