This bill amends the Vehicle and Traffic Law to include "red cross vehicles" in the definition of "authorized emergency vehicles." Specifically, the bill defines a "red cross vehicle" as any vehicle owned or leased and operated by the American National Red Cross, or any of its chapters or branches, and equipped and clearly marked as a red cross vehicle. The bill clarifies that the operator of a red cross vehicle shall not exercise the privileges granted to other authorized emergency vehicles, such as the ability to disregard certain traffic laws.
