Bill Summary

This bill provides that no otherwise eligible individual shall be denied unemployment benefits for any week in which the individual is regarded as having left work voluntarily and without good cause attributable to the work, if the Department of Labor and Workforce Development determines that the individual was unavailable that week for work solely because the individual was being detained for charges which were subsequently dismissed by a decision not to prosecute, a decision of a grand jury not to indict, or a finding of not guilty after a trial. No employer's account is to be charged for the payment of benefits paid under those circumstances.
