This bill establishes a critical supply chain resiliency and crisis response program in the Department of Commerce to map, monitor, and model critical supply chains, identify vulnerabilities, evaluate the effects of supply chain shocks, and coordinate response efforts with other agencies, private sector partners, and ally countries. The bill also requires the Secretary of Commerce to designate critical industries, supply chains, and goods; submit a biennial report on critical supply chain resilience and manufacturing in the U.S.; and develop an early warning mechanism to detect potential supply chain shocks. Additionally, the bill directs the Secretary to facilitate the development and dissemination of guidelines and best practices for improving the resilience, diversity, security, and strength of critical supply chains, and assesses the Department of Commerce's capabilities in this area.
