This bill extends provisions of law relating to certain urban development action areas rehabilitation or conservation projects. Specifically, it amends the General Municipal Law to extend the sunset date for certain waivers from June 30, 2024 to June 30, 2027. These waivers allow the governing body or a commission to waive the area designation requirement and other land use standards and procedures for urban development action area projects that consist solely of the rehabilitation or conservation of existing private or multiple dwellings, the construction of one to four unit dwellings, or the construction of up to 90 dwelling units financed by the federal government and restricted to occupancy by the elderly or persons with disabilities without any change in land use permitted by local zoning.
