Bill Summary
AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to enabling safe access to public roads for all users by utilizing complete street design principles
AI Summary
This bill amends the Highway Law to require state, county, and local transportation projects that receive federal and state funding and are subject to Department of Transportation oversight to consider complete street design features in the planning, design, construction, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of such projects, as well as in the resurfacing, maintenance, and pavement recycling of such projects if the service life of the project is at least 10 years.
