This bill amends the existing law in Massachusetts to clarify the definition of "brand name" for the purposes of the direct wine shipper license. It also specifies that the Commission may issue a direct wine shipper license to any person, firm, or corporation that holds a federal basic permit and a license in Massachusetts or another state to manufacture and export wine. Under this license, direct wine shippers may sell and deliver wine directly to Massachusetts residents aged 21 or older for personal use, but they cannot sell at retail any wine or wine product not produced for or by the winery and sold under the winery's brand name.
