This bill reauthorizes and reforms counter-unmanned aircraft system (counter-UAS) authorities to improve transparency, security, safety, and accountability. It provides the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and Federal Aviation Administration with additional authorities to detect, identify, monitor, track, and mitigate threats from unmanned aircraft systems at certain critical facilities and public gatherings. The bill also establishes training and certification requirements for personnel operating counter-UAS systems, and requires increased reporting and oversight of counter-UAS activities.
