A BILL To establish international artificial intelligence research partnerships, and for other purposes.

AI Summary

This bill establishes the International Artificial Intelligence Research Partnership program, which will encourage and support the creation of partnerships between U.S. cities and their international counterparts to collaborate on non-national security areas of artificial intelligence (AI) research. The Secretary of State will provide guidance and assistance to cities establishing these partnerships, coordinate with the National Science Foundation to align the partnerships with U.S. research priorities, and ensure the partnerships are consistent with U.S. foreign policy and national security interests. The bill authorizes $20 million per year from 2025 to 2028 for the Secretary of State to facilitate the establishment and implementation of these AI research partnerships.
