This bill establishes an interagency Harmonization Committee to enhance the harmonization of cybersecurity regulations in the United States. The Committee is tasked with developing a regulatory framework to align cybersecurity requirements across regulatory agencies, including establishing a reciprocal compliance mechanism and identifying and addressing overly burdensome, inconsistent, or contradictory requirements. The bill also requires regulatory agencies to consult the Committee before issuing new cybersecurity requirements, unless exigent circumstances exist, and mandates status updates and reports to Congress on the Committee's activities and pilot programs to implement the regulatory framework.
