This bill amends the first paragraph of Section 51 of Chapter 112 of the General Laws to allow for the reciprocal licensure of dental hygienists. Specifically, it allows individuals who are: (i) graduates of an accredited dental hygienist program, (ii) dental students who have completed at least 4 semesters or graduates of an accredited dental college, or (iii) dentists who have practiced for at least 5 years in another country or foreign province, to be examined by the board and, if their examination is satisfactory, be registered and given a certificate to practice dental hygiene in the Commonwealth. The bill requires these individuals to pay a fee determined by the Commissioner of Administration and Finance.
