This bill amends the Public School Code of 1949 to provide special provisions applicable to the 2024-2025 school year. It states that any university in Pennsylvania that authorizes, facilitates, or supports an event promoting antisemitism on its campus will be ineligible to receive any Commonwealth funding for that academic year. Universities that have previously received Commonwealth funding must refund the amount received for the year in which the antisemitic event occurred. Violations of this provision will be reported to the State Board of Education, which will hold a hearing and vote on the imposition of the funding penalties. The bill defines "antisemitism" to include various forms of hatred or discrimination against Jewish individuals, groups, or the state of Israel.
