This bill, the Strengthening Prosecution Integrity for Espionage Statutes Act (SPIES Act), eliminates the statute of limitations for certain offenses related to espionage, including violations of Section 951 (acting as an unregistered foreign agent) and Section 794 (gathering or delivering defense information to aid a foreign government) of Title 18 of the United States Code. Additionally, the bill removes the statute of limitations for violations of Section 1425 (procurement of citizenship or naturalization unlawfully) if the offense was committed to facilitate a violation of Section 951.
