This bill repeals the Military Selective Service Act, which established the Selective Service System and the requirement for men to register for potential military conscription. The bill transfers the assets, contracts, property, and records of the Selective Service System to the General Services Administration, and directs the Office of Personnel Management to assist Selective Service System employees in transferring to other government positions. The bill also prohibits the denial of rights, privileges, or benefits, or the imposition of penalties, based on a person's failure to register for the Selective Service before the act was repealed. Additionally, the bill states that the repeal of the act does not diminish the rights of conscientious objectors.
