This bill amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to allow individuals to safely import prescription drugs from approved pharmacies in Canada, provided the drugs have the same active ingredients, route of administration, dosage form, and strength as a drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The bill requires the FDA to promulgate regulations within 180 days of enactment and to publish a list of approved Canadian pharmacies on its website. The bill excludes certain drugs, such as controlled substances, biological products, and drugs that require refrigeration, from being eligible for importation under this program.
