This bill allows the governing body of the St. Clair County DAY Program, Incorporated to enroll its executive officers and full-time employees in the Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama. The bill states that the St. Clair County DAY Program, Incorporated must pay the employer contributions for its employees, and it also allows the program to include service rendered prior to the effective date of their enrollment in the retirement system, as long as the program assumes the associated costs. The bill specifies that any benefits paid out to beneficiaries under this provision will be limited to the amounts contributed by the beneficiary and employer, plus interest earned and investment gains, minus administrative costs, and will not be a cost to the State of Alabama. The bill will become effective on October 1, 2025.
