This bill, the Preventing Armed Groups from Engaging in Radicalism (PAGER) Act, proposes to prohibit the availability of federal funds to support the Armed Forces of Lebanon until the Secretary of State certifies that the Government of Lebanon no longer recognizes the legitimacy of certain political parties associated with Hezbollah, and that Hezbollah's presence and influence in Lebanon has been significantly reduced or eliminated. The bill also limits U.S. support to the United Nations Development Programme for any livelihood support programs involving the Lebanese armed or internal security forces, and requires regular reports on Hezbollah and Iran's influence within the Lebanese government.
