This bill, the Northern Border Security Enhancement and Review Act, amends the Northern Border Security Review Act to require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to update the northern border threat analysis and northern border strategy on a regular basis. Specifically, it requires DHS to conduct a northern border threat analysis every 3 years and update the northern border strategy every 5 years to incorporate the results of the latest threat analysis. Additionally, the bill requires DHS to provide classified briefings to Congress on the threat analysis and directs DHS to develop performance measures to assess the effectiveness of Air and Marine Operations in securing the northern border between ports of entry. The bill does not authorize any additional funding for these requirements.
